Vacancies for Councillors

The Parish Council has two vacancies at the present time, both of which can be filled by co-option.

If you would like more information on the work of a Councillor, please contact the Clerk or one of the current Councillors.  Alternatively, please look at this leaflet which was prepared as information for the 2015 elections.

It’s difficult for the Council to go forward without a full complement of Councillors – there must be someone out there with a little time to spare.  If you’re interested, please contact either the Clerk or one of the existing Councillors – alternatively come along to a parish council meeting, you will be surprised at the variety of issues the Council deals with!

Your Community Needs YOU!

Wanted – 3 Parish Councillors!!

Following the uncontested election in May, the Council is running at the moment with only 4 of the seven seats filled.  Three more Councillors are urgently needed and the Parish Council is looking to co-opt at the meeting on Tuesday 8 September.   Interested??  Speak to one of the current Councillors or the Clerk, or see the leaflet which was prepared for this year’s elections and which will give you more information.  Then write to the Clerk (email is fine) with the following information by Tuesday 3 November 2015:

  • contact details
  • confirmation of fulfilling the criteria (see leaflet referred to above)
  • reasons for wishing to join the Council

These are interesting and challenging times for local government – be a part of it!!

Norman Lamb MP is currently on his Annual Village Tour.  He’ll be outside The Banningham Crown at 4.30pm tomorrow, Thursday 3 September.  No need to make an appointment, just turn up.

Audit of Accounts for 2014/2015

The Parish Council adopted the Accounts at the May meeting, and all the books and records then went off to Kevin Eke, the Internal Auditor.  Mr Eke attended the June parish council meeting and gave his report, and the Parish Council then completed the next section of the Annual Return.

All the invoices and records are now open for public inspection – by arrangement with the Clerk, please.  The period starts on I July 2015 and closes on 28 July 2015.  You can see the formal notice below .  Notice of Audit 2015

The Annual Return will be sent to the External Auditor  to comply with the 3 July 2015 deadline.

Management Committee AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Jubilee Hall Management Committee will be held on Tuesday 26 May 2015 at 7pm in the hall.

All residents are welcome to attend – the hall needs your support if future improvements are to be made.

Think about joining the Committee if you have a few hours to spare each month.  More information AGM poster
